Annual Yorkshire duck race at Bolton Abbey raises £1500

17 July 2012

Around £1500 was raised for charity on Saturday at the Annual Yorkshire Duck Race at Bolton Abbey.

The Leprosy Mission, Street Angels – CNI Network and The Yorkshire Wildlife Trust joined forces to organise the event which saw 1200 plastic ducks take part in a duck chuck. Prizes included travel to London with Grand Central Rail, family tickets to a show at Square Chapel, Halifax, Leprosy Mission products and annual membership of Yorkshire Wildlife Trust. The event was sponsored by Makin Dixon Solicitors.

The day included music from Trevor, Helen and Emma Bendrien on a specially modified trailer which is to take to the streets of London during the Olympics.

This is the third Duck Race event at Bolton Abbey and plans are already under way for the 2013 event.
