A 27 year-old Harrogate man has died following a road accident late last night.
The man was driving a silver Porsche heading towards Leeds, on the Leeds Road (Almsford Bank on the A61) when he left the main carriage while overtaking a blue Citroen Picasso.
The Porsche left the road and collided with a tree.
The incident happened at 11pm on 14 July and the road remained closed until 4am the following morning as recovery and investigations took place.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene by the emergency services and has yet to be named.
Traffic Sergeant Hamish Halloway, of North Yorkshire Police’s Roads Policing Group, said:
