Public exhibition to show draft emerging plans for Manse Farm site in Knaresborough

5 July 2012

A public exhibition will reveal draft emerging plans for a new mixed-use development to the east of Knaresborough for the first time. The plans for the Manse Farm site, located off York Road to the east of Knaresborough, are being brought forward by Harrogate-based Commercial Estates Projects.

The draft emerging plans include: New homes including affordable housing New employment units Community facilities Public open space and landscaping.

Steve McBurney, speaking on behalf of Commercial Estates Projects, said:

As Local Planning Authority, Harrogate Borough Council has, over many years, identified this site as being well-suited to deliver much-needed new homes and jobs for local people. We have the local knowledge and experience to deliver these as sensitively and sustainably as possible. We want to show the local community our draft emerging plans at the earliest possible opportunity, as part of public consultation in advance of submitting a planning application, and I hope that people will come along to give us their feedback.

The exhibition will take place over two days at Knaresborough House, High Street, Knaresborough, HG5 0HW:

Friday 6 July 2012: 4pm – 8pm Saturday 7 July 2012: 10am – 1pm

  1. Very concerned that these people can walk all over the previous talks with the council and the directive to use brown field sites first.
They propose building on an area designated as a flood plane !! should be fun for those who live nearby.
Building for 7 to 10 years, whats the betting the school and rail halt are not built and our local schools are over run.
Building houses on fields are an easy option and will cause disruption for many years.
