Five injured in serious road accident in Knaresborough

TrafficAt 7:40pm yesterday evening (26 June 2012) emergency services attended a serious road accident on the Ripley Road in Knaresborough.

A grey Vauxhall Corsa with a black bonnet, was travelling down the Ripley Road (B6165) towards knaresborough when it was involved in a collision with a blue Fiat Bravo that was travelling from Scotton, also to Knaresborough.

The incident took place at the junction of the Ripley Road and the Scotton turn off.

The 20 year old male driver of the Vauxhall, along with one male and two female passengers all received serious neck and back injuries requiring hospital treatment.

The 20 year old female driver of the Fiat sustained minor injuries.

The road remained closed for over 3 hours while the incident was managed.
