Harrogate police are appealing for witnesses after a woman suffered a hip injury in the town.

It occurred at 10.05am on Friday 22 June 2012, on level 9 of the Victoria Multi-storey car park on East Parade.

An 88-year-old local woman was reversing out of a parking bay when an 86-year-old woman from Folifoot was walking behind the car.

As a result of the incident the 86-year-old was taken to Harrogate District Hospital with a fractured hip.

Traffic Constable Andy MacLeod, of North Yorkshire Police’s Roads Policing Group, said:

I ask anyone who was on level 9 of the car park to contact the police as soon as possible so that I can better understand the circumstances around how the woman suffered the injury.

If you can help with this enquiry please contact Harrogate police on 101, select option 2 and ask for Andy MacLeod.

  1. I swear that a lot of older drivers are far more dangerous than drunk drivers.
Annual re-testing once you hit a certain age should be mandatory. Some of the older drivers are shocking, they are so unaware and oblivious to all around them as well as too slow to react.
