As part of changes introduced under the Government’s recent reforms of the NHS, the Board of Directors of Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust will now be holding its meetings in public.
The Trust manages both Harrogate District Hospital and a range community based health services, like Health Visitors and GP Out of Hours services, across North Yorkshire. The Board of Directors is made up of the Executive Directors, who manage the Trust day to day, and a group of Non-Executive Directors, who are appointed to provide an independent view of the Trust’s performance and advice on a range of strategic matters.
Board of Directors meetings typically include reports from the Chief Executive, Finance Director and Chief Nurse as well as updates on the Trust’s performance.
Members of the public will now have the chance to observe their discussions, but the Trust will continue to be scrutinised by a Council of Governors, most of whom are publicly elected. The Council of Governors will continue to hold quarterly public meetings, where members of the public can submit any questions they may have.
The next meeting of the Board of Directors of Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust will take place at 9am on Wednesday 27 June, in the Board Room, Trust HQ, 3rd Floor, Strayside Wing at Harrogate District Hospital.
Papers to be discussed by the Directors will be posted on the Trust’s website at www.hdft.nhs.uk prior to the meeting.
Any member of the public who has queries about the Board of Directors or their meetings should contact Chris Watt, Head of Corporate Affairs & Communications, on 01423 554429 or email Christopher.watt@hdft.nhs.uk
