On the evening of the 6th June 2012 the crew at Lofthouse Volunteer Fire Station received their Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medals in recognition of their professionalism and dedication to the public in their local community.
The medals were presented by Chairman of the Fire Authority Councillor John Fort at the Fire Station.
Station Manager Peter Gregory from North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue made comment and recognised the commitment of the crews during the ceremony and commentated on the continued contributions to the Fire Service.
Peter Gregory said:
The importance of the contribution you bring to the local communities in this remote rural area you cover is a valuable asset to all. The time and effort given in your voluntary capacity is second to none, well done.
The Fire Service is looking for more volunteers who might be interested in joining the local Station. If you are over 18 years old, live within the Lofthouse area and would be interested in joining the other Volunteers, then please visit our website at www.northyorksfire.gov.uk
