Ripon’s Got Talent is making a welcome return to the city following last year’s successful event. The competition, which is being organised by the North Yorkshire County Council’s Youth support service in Ripon, allows young people the opportunity to showcase their showbiz skills.
Organisers are calling for young people aged 11 – 19 from Ripon who think they can impress the judges to audition for this year’s competition. Comedians, singers, magicians, bands, dance crews and all other talents are welcome to enter for the chance to win Ripon’s Got Talent 2012.
James Parkes, Youth Support Worker said:
Ripon’s Got Talent give young people the opportunity to showcase their talents and allows members of community to see the positive contributions young people can make within the community.
Last year’s overall winners were Purple Mafia a indie rock band made up of students from Ripon Grammar School who perform their own material and have done on to be crowned winners of the Harrogate AMP Awards 2012.
Lead singer Dan Reynard said:
It was a really good night for everyone who took part and winning has really helped us as a band.
