Ripon has failed in its bid to become a Mary Portas Pilot.
Competition was tough with 12 being chosen from the 371 bids put forward for a share of a £1.2m prize pot.
Each pilot will receive around £100,000 each, to be spent on improvements to their shopping districts.
The 12 Portas Pilot winners are:

- Croydon, Greater London
- Dartford, Kent
- Bedminster, Bristol
- Liskeard, Cornwall
- Margate, Kent Market
- Rasen, Lincolnshire
- Nelson, Lancashire
- Newbiggin by the Sea, Northumberland
- Stockport, Greater Manchester
- Stockton on Tees, Teeside
- Wolverhampton
