One of the region’s leading commercial property agents is predicting it will get “stacks of offers”, after putting an 80ft chimney up for sale!
The 80ft steel structure at Pannal Business Park – which is one of Harrogate’s most prominent structures – has not been in use since production at the former Dunlopillo factory ceased more than five years ago.
Since then the site – which for more than seven decades was the home to the famous Dunlopillo mattresses and pillows – has become a popular location for a growing number of diverse businesses.
Nick Prescott from Pannal Business Park letting agent Gent Visick said:
The chimney is one of the first sights to greet visitors to the town arriving by rail, or coming north along the A61.
It was a vital component in the latex foam drying process, but since production ceased, it has been redundant.
The owners of the site are now looking at selling it and its associated machinery, and we are confident we will receive stacks of interest!
Pannal Business Park is home to a variety of businesses, including a green energy supplier, an embroidery company, café, public relations firm, coffee consultancy, gym and fitness centre.
Several of the businesses are brand new, having taken up empty offices in the former Dunlopillo headquarters.
