Visitors to this year’s Great Yorkshire Show will be treated to a number of firsts when they take their seats in the hugely popular Skipton Building Society Fashion Pavilion.
As well as being England’s premier agricultural show, the event has built up a reputation for showcasing collections by the best of the region’s fashion designers, alongside those of Yorkshire’s up-and-coming design talent. Dates are Tuesday 10 – Thursday 12 July when around 130,000 visitors are expected through the gates.
And this year, it will play host to a number of fashion firsts, including the unveiling of three brand-new clothing ranges, and a 100th birthday celebration range.

At the event, Yorkshire-based racing car manufacturer Ginetta is unveiling its first-ever clothing range – the G58 lifestyle collection – while Leeds-based fashion designer Kelly Ewing, who counts X-Factor stars Little Mix and Amelia Lily amongst her clients, will launch her new bridal wear collection.

Former racing driver Mr Tomlinson, who will attend the Show to see G58’s catwalk debut said:
As a local manufacturer and relatively large employer in Yorkshire, we are delighted to be associated with the Great Yorkshire Show and we hope visitors will enjoy our new lifestyle clothing collection.
Leeds-based Kelly Ewing, who regularly dresses Coronation Street and Hollyoaks stars, is equally happy to have been invited to the countryside extravaganza.
Kelly Ewing said:
I am proud and flattered to have been asked to show my collections. I’ve been to the Show with my family in the past as it’s a great day out and for my clothes to be seen by visitors to the event is just fantastic.
Kelly will be unveiling her new bridal collection at Harrogate, which will be formally launched next spring, as well as giving visitors a sneak preview of her autumn/winter and party dress collections.
Talented West Yorkshire fashion designer Hardy Punglia of The Left Bank at Huddersfield is returning to the event for the second year running. Since he made his debut at last year Show, his range of clothing has been much in demand, and he now counts boy band JLS amongst his regular customers.
As well as clothes from his Main Line collection, Hardy will be unveiling items from his Revisited by Hardy Punglia range, using re-worked second-hand clothing to create exciting new pieces to raise money for the West Yorkshire-based Forget-me-Not Children’s Hospice.

Keighley-based Brook Taverner is celebrating its centenary this year – and to mark the milestone, the stylish ladies and menswear company is launching a limited edition men’s wool jacket, with matching scarf and other accessories in the specially-commissioned and locally-manufactured centenary tweed. The cloth has been specially made by Abraham Moon’s in Guiseley.
Debuting two exciting collections, including some stunning knitwear, will be talented final year BTEC fashion and clothing students from Craven College, based at Skipton. Whilst students from Bradford College will present a special Great Yorkshire Show collection at the event.
High street store Hobbs is making a welcome return, showcasing their NW3 and Hobbs London range, while Harveys of Halifax will be dressing members of the Boston Spa WI for their fashion show debut.
Elsewhere around the showground, there is the usual mix of animals and entertainment to keep visitors happy.
More than 5,000 of Britain’s best cattle, sheep and pigs are competing for the coveted championship awards, while the event also hosts top class show jumping and sheep shearing, as well as being as a showcase for the region’s best food and drink.
