Knaresborough Rotary Club are organising a sixties Diamond Jubilee Concert at King James’s School on Friday 4th May at 7.30 pm featuring local authentic sixties covers band ‘The Diamonds’.
The band’s lead guitarist Brian Dunn was one of Joe Brown’s original ‘Bruvvers’ before going on to work with many sixties greats including the legendary Marty Wilde.
The Diamonds’ recreate the original sounds of the sixties with close harmonies and the use of vintage equipment from the likes of Vox, Fender and Rickenbacker.
The Concert will include some of the greatest 60’s tunes ever recorded, including songs by Manfred Mann, The Hollies, Hermans Hermits, Bobby Vee, Cliff Richard, The Beatles and Elvis Presley.
The Diamonds’ played at the 2011 Knaresborough Christmas Markets and have already been booked to appear again in 2012.
If you’re looking for a night of unforgettable music that appeals to all ages, then get your tickets (£6 each) from Wild Orchid at 19 – 21 Knaresborough High Street (opposite Tescos). Sixties dress is optional but encouraged! There will be a licensed Bar.
