Town saved the best till last with an awesome second half display against Corby Town.
After Mark Cook had dealt with a couple of early Corby crosses,Town countered with Lee Elam forcing Nicholas Bennion into making a fine one handed save.
Home skipper Phil Gulliver and Tom McGowan combined well only to be denied by a timely block from Matt Bloomer,then a Richard Pell slip almost let in Jordan Smith but he drove straight at Cook.
Corby’s best chances came on the half hour when Town cleared a corner off the line and Cook tipped the follow up over the bar.
A foul on Tom Platt twenty yards out gave Jonny Allan an opportunity, but his free kick was comfortably held by Bennion under the crossbar.
Luke Dean and Pell shot wide as Town pressed,but on the cusp of half time they were caught on the break when Gary King broke clear only for Cook to turn his shot for a corner.
Two minutes after the interval, Paul Bolland’s through ball enabled Alex Meechan to win a corner. Craig Radcliffe’s kick was cleared only as far as Pell who drove home through a crowded area to open the scoring.
Within four minutes Harrogate took a stranglehold on the game when Elam’s cross was cleared to Bolland whose swerving piledriver was helped into his own net by Bennion.
Harrogate piled on the pressure and the Steelmen’s defence scrambled clear when Bennion fumbled a Dean cross.
Corby made all three substitutions, but could make no impression on a Town defence ably led by Pell and Alan White.
With twenty minutes left Pell headed home a Radcliffe corner to make it three.
As the game moved towards it’s close, Bolland found Allan who calmly sidefooted past Bennion into the far corner.
Deep into added time,Radcliffe and Elam broke down the left,the ball was squared to Platt and he lashed home a magnificent strike into the top corner from twenty yards.
This win catapulted Town up to a final fifteenth place in the league.
