Harrogate Railway is under threat of relegation from the Evo-Stik First Division North and have appointed a new management team.
Denis Metcalf Junior, son of successful former Farsley Celtic manager is part of a new management team with Alan Parkes and reserve team manager Bob Moffat which is looking to keep Railway up.
Club Secretary, Mike Sunley said:
An emergency committee meeting was held at Harrogate Railway FC last Monday evening (26 March 2012), where it was decided to relieve manager Nigel Danby, his assistant Mick Norbury and coach Steve Davey of their managerial duties with the first team. The decision was made due to the current position Harrogate Railway are in the league at the moment and also the team’s current lack of form.
We would like to thank all three of them for all their hard work and efforts they have put in over the last two seasons and we wish them all the very best for the future.
In the same meeting, it was also decided who will take over the team for the remainder of the season, starting with our away game at Salford City this Saturday.
We have appointed four people to take charge of matters. They comprise of Alan Parkes, Denis Metcalf Junior, Reserve Team Coach Bob Moffat and Academy Team Coach Steve Donoghue. They face a difficult task ahead of them but we feel they will come through this and help Harrogate Railway to return our status in the Evo-Stik North league.
