Harrogate Hospital Radio has proved it has got the X Factor when a celebrity dropped by for an interview.
Andy Abraham – who was runner up to Shane Ward in the 2005 X Factor finals – took time out of his hectic touring schedule to record an interview with presenter Carl Richards ahead of his “History Of the Big Band’ concert in York that evening.
Carl, a member since 2006, said:
I was incredibly excited about being able to sit down and talk with Andy Abraham. I’m a huge fan of his and really appreciated the opportunity to talk with him about his life and music.”
We are very grateful to him as we understand how busy his schedule must be. He was a true gent and very easy to get on with.
He was very honest and open about the X Factor and also about his Eurovision Song Contest experience. In addition to being interviewed, he also recorded a number of promotions for us.

Andy, who has released four albums, the first of which went platinum, is appearing at Harrogate’s Royal Hall on May 17.
