Harrogate photographer Mihai Tufa will start an amazing 7-year personal challenge to walk around the world while raising money for three charities. Mihai’s 60,000 mile ‘The World Photo Tour’ starts from Harrogate on 16th February 2012.
Romanian born Mihai has been living and working in Harrogate since 2010. At the age of 26, Mihai has set himself a mission to raise £100,000 for each of the charities he has chosen to support: British Heart Foundation, Princess Margareta of Romania Trust and Water Aid.

There are plenty of problems to be addressed around the world.
In my opinion, at the core lies poverty, and right above it, health; closely connected. But rather than addressing general issues throughout my journey, I want to draw attention to more specific ones.
People will be able to track my journey and share in my findings through words and pictures in my blog: Theworldphototour.com
I hope that readers will support me by donating to the charities that can make a difference to society, whether the issue is water-supply in poverty-stricken areas, investment in heart-related diseases in UK or support and access to education in Romania’s poorest areas.
In the remaining days before starting his mammoth walk, when he is not working, Mihai is training, walking for several hours on a daily basis. His trip requires round-the-clock planning and he is still busy researching the final details on his first European leg of the journey.
In terms of financing the trip, Mihai is still looking for sponsorship to keep him on the road.

The resources I’ll be setting off with will probably last me four to six months.
I’m looking at spending no more than £5 per day. This whole journey is so low-budget that it is actually almost no-budget! I hope that people will be interested in following me, enjoy the photos that I take and read how my adventure unfolds in each country I travel through.
I will make very regular updates. I am hoping to attract sponsorship from photography, out-door equipment and travel magazine industries, but private donations that will keep me walking can be made through a PayPal function on my website.
Every little helps and would be very gratefully received.
