Harrogate police are appealing to the public to help them locate a wanted woman.
Kayleigh Johnson, aged 20, of Cold Bath Place, has two warrants out for her arrest. One issued by York Crown Court for breaching a community order and another issued by Harrogate Magistrates’ Court for failing to attend in order to answer theft charges.
She is also wanted on suspicion of stealing food from Sainsbury’s on Cold Bath Road in December 2011.
Officers believe that Johnson may be in the Sunderland area and are appealing to the public to keep an eye out for her.
PC Dave MacKay, of Harrogate police, said:
Johnson has no regard for the criminal justice system and clearly doesn’t have the decency or courage to attend court to answer the charges against her.
We believe that she may be frequenting the Sunderland area and I am appealing to residents there as well as the people of Harrogate to let us know if they see her, or know where she is.
Anyone who can help the investigation is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 2 – and ask for PC Dave Mackay or Harrogate police.
Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
