Ripon has regained the title they held in 2009 by being awarded “Best Small Racecourse in the North”.
Organised by the Racegoers Club, the annual awards are the racing industry’s most keenly contested accolades. With Racegoers Club members going racing an average of 31 times per year, no one could be better qualified to pass judgement or be more critical of the standards.
Ripon have now been awarded with the title in 1996, 2003, 2009 and 2011, and next year they will undoubtedly be pushing for it again.
James Hutchinson, Clerk of the Course and MD said:
This is a great accolade for all the staff at Ripon and pays great reward for the fantastic work they’ve all put in this season. I couldn’t be happier
This year’s award follows substantial maintenance and refurbishment work including work including work on the sewerage system and complete revamp in the Paddock Toilets.
Ripon also have 2011/12 winter projects in place to be unveiled at the beginning of their 2012 season, of which racegoers will inevitably appreciate. The Board of Directors is committed to continuing investment to keep building on the quality racing and functionality of the racecourse.
Glad to hear their hard work has been rewarded and look forward to an interesting program of events for 2012. Race meets can be a fun day out for all the family especially family day!
