Lucky children were treated to a visit from Santa when he dropped in at the Christmas Fayre at Bishop Monkton village hall near to Harrogate. Santa, who was introduced by Mayor of Harrogate Cllr Les Ellington, gave out gifts and listened to the children’s “Christmas lists”
Shoppers entered into the Christmas spirit with Carols playing and on offer were turkey sandwiches, mince pies and mulled wine. The fayre boasted an array of stalls selling Clothes, Crafts, face painting, jewellery, Christmas Wreaths, Cakes and Cosmetics.
Coun Les Ellington welcomed shoppers and was very pleasantly surprised by the extensive facilities offered at the village hall; he also thanked the hosts “Friends of Bishop Monkton School”
The event raised an amazing £1015 which will go towards the much needed all weather playground improvements at the school.
Friends of Bishop Monkton School chair, Charlotte Spencer said:
“We would very much like to thank all of those who supported this event especially those who baked, roasted, donated prizes or helped on the day”
