With sparkly dresses for the Christmas party, unique presents for family and friends, opportunities to learn new skills, fashion shows and Green Santa – the Choose2Reuse fair has everything to help make Christmas sparkle … without costing the Earth.
Taking place at The Pavilions, in Harrogate on 17th December, the fair will showcase the best reused and recycled items across York and North Yorkshire. With more than 50 stalls, from charity shops, furniture reuse organisations, local crafts people and designers, and vintage clothing specialists, there will be something for everyone.
Workshops will be staged to show how everyone can produce some of the items on sale, and fashion shows will display the extraordinary range of clothing available in charity shops and from local designers.

Creations produced by local crafts people available on the day include decorative items for the home made from unwanted clothing and jewellery, bags and toys made from recycled materials, reclaimed furniture, mirrors, books made from bags and envelopes, rag rugs, lavender bags, and wedding favours – to name just a few.
Vintage clothing and accessories are also available, including vintage outfits to give clothing a modern twist.
The fashion shows will feature collections from local charity shops displaying the range of quality items they have available in store – including Prada and Laura Ashley dresses – while students from Harrogate Grammar School will model their own collections, while others from King James’s School in Knaresborough will be modelling for Oxfam.
County Councillor Chris Metcalfe, Chairman of the Waste Partnership said:
This will be the perfect place to pick up a last minute Christmas present or stocking filler, while at the same time getting some great ideas on the imaginative and innovative ways in which everyone can do their bit to reuse and recycle.
Entry to the fair, fashion show and workshop is free. The event takes place at The Pavilions, Wetherby Road, Harrogate, HG2 8NZ from 10am to 4pm.
