Police in Ripon are appealing for information following a robbery in the city.
It occurred just before 11am today (Tuesday 6 December 2011) when three men entered the Motor World store on Westgate.
The men locked the shop and forced the 26-year-old man working in the store, who was the only person in the premises at the time, into a back room.
The thieves empted the till and smashed display cabinets before stealing the items inside.
When they left the store, the men turned right and ran down Westgate. It is believed that they will have been carrying a box.
As a result of the robbery, the store worker required treatment at Harrogate District Hospital.
The men are all described as approximately 5ft 8in tall and aged in their mid to late 20s. Two of the men have slim builds and the third man is described as very skinny.
Detective Sergeant Paul Schofield, of Harrogate CID, said:
This robbery has naturally left the man who was working in the store shaken by the experience. Thankfully his injuries are not serious.
I am appealing to anyone who may have seen the three men making the way along Westgate to contact the police, or Crimestoppers if they would prefer to pass information on anonymously, immediately.
Anyone who can help the police with their enquiries is urged to contact DS Paul Schofield at Harrogate CID on 0845 60 60 24 7. Press option 2 and ask for him by name. Or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting reference number 12110205614.
