Yorkshire law firm McCormicks of Harrogate has appointed a new trainee solicitor.
Ben Wilson (pictured) joined the practice as a Legal Assistant and has now been given a training contract.
Ben graduated from Lancaster University with an honours degree in law. After spending two years travelling and working in Australia, New Zealand and south east Asia, he completed the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in York, obtaining a Distinction.
Ben then went on to work as paralegal in the Commercial Litigation and Professional Negligence department of a major law firm in Newcastle, handling his own case load and assisting other fee earners on high value litigation.
At McCormicks he will specialise in all aspects of Corporate and Commercial work, both contentious and non contentious, and assist Partners Peter McCormick, James Martin and Richard Crabb in the firm’s Sports Law practice.
Senior Partner Peter McCormick said:
Not only will Ben’s assistance in what are two very busy areas of practice for the firm be welcome but he will gain invaluable experience in two exciting disciplines.
McCormicks recently won recommendations for its Corporate and Commercial and Sport work in the latest edition of the UK Legal 500, a leading guide to the legal profession, along with a further 12 areas of law.
