Bradford fatal Collision on Great Horton Road

Police in Bradford are appealing for information after a 39-year-old man died this morning (Saturday 1 October 2011) after being struck by a vehicle as he crossed Great Horton Road.

The incident occurred around 1.20am near to the junction with Old Road. After getting out of taxi the local man is believed to have crossed Great Horton Road in the direction of Windamere Road when he was struck by a Renault Megane vehicle that was driving out of the city.

The injured man was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary where he died a short time later.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident or anyone who saw the Renault Megane in the time immediately prior to the collision.

A 23-year-old man from Halifax was arrested at the scene on suspicion of dangerous driving.
