North Yorkshire Police were called at around 7.50pm on Monday 22 August 2011 after reports that two local men had been assaulted on Bower Street, Harrogate.
The victims, both aged 36 were taken to Harrogate District Hospital for treatment to injuries sustained in the incident.
One of the victims remains in hospital in a stable condition and the other man has been discharged.
An 18-year-old man who has been arrested in connection with the incident remains in police custody as enquiries into the incident continue.
The crime scene remains cordoned off this morning
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the assault to contact them with information.
