Two good Samaritans have been asked to come forward after a good deed act that helped overt what could of been a far bigger problem.
Just after midnight on the evening of Saturday 6th August, a couple found an elderly man in a confused state in Harrogate. They helped him to a taxi and handed the taxi driver, Jeff Hebblewhite, £20 and asking him to take the man home to Leeds.

Jeff was unsure if to take the fare but was taken by the couples obvious concern for the man.
Jeff Hebblewhite: “During the course of the journey I gradually teased out of him his destination. He said that his wife and daughter would be waiting for him
“it was at this point that I wished that I had had a Sat.Nav. Fortunately, another cab passed by and he was able to help, he asked me to follow him, it wasn’t far and we soon arrived at the right road.
“When we arrived the old gentleman recognised his daughter’s car parked outside his house, much to my relief.
“We knocked on the door and his daughter came to the door and her face was full of emotion. It turned out that she had gone out shopping and he had somehow wandered off in the afternoon, she had contacted the police and she had been worried sick.
“She invited me in and the first thing she did was to contact the police to tell them all was well. It was a tearful and happy scene.
“I told her about the couple who had helped her father, and she only wished that she was able thank them for what they had done.”
