West Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a fatal road traffic collision on Beeston Road, Beeston, last night (15 June 2011).
A red Skoda Fabia was travelling along Beeston Road in the direction of Old Lane at around 8.40pm when it was in collision with a white Mitsubishi L200 which was travelling in the opposite direction.
The front seat passanger in the Skoda was pronounced dead at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified.
The driver of the Skoda, a 23-year-old man from Armley, was taken to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment to serious injuries. He is currently in a critical but stable condition.
The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 36-year-old man from Armley, was taken to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment to minor injuries and has since been released from hospital.
Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the collision are ongoing. Any witnesses to the collision, or anyone who saw the movements of either the Skoda or the Mitsubishi prior to the collision, is asked to contact the Major Collision Enquiry Team on 0845 6060606.
