Appeal to trace Filey burglary suspect who failed to attend court

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for information to help trace Andrew Thackwray who failed to show up at court to face a burglary charge.

The 45-year-old was due to attend Scarborough Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (25 May 2011) for allegedly breaking in and stealing jewellery and other items from a house in the Filey area on 29 April 2011.

The court issued a warrant for his arrest and extensive police enquiries to find him have been carried out and remain ongoing.

To assist with the investigation, police are asking members of the public to come forward with any information about or sightings of Thackwray since his no-show at court on Wednesday.

Thackwray, who is from Hampsthwaite near Harrogate, is described as white, 5ft 11in tall, average build, brown hair with a slight quiff at the front, blue eyes, large bulbous nose and large ears. He has a scruffy or unkempt appearance and might be under the influence of alcohol.
