A Harrogate business is celebrating its second birthday by giving presents and not receiving any!
To mark 24 months in business, Harrogate Home Cinema is donating a hi-tech internet Enabled Blu-Ray DVD player and DVDs to the Candlelighters children’s cancer charity.
The company, which was started by Andy Wyatt and Peter Hudspeth, specialises in supplying and fitting custom Home Cinema, “smart” home technologies, multi-room audio & intelligent lighting systems.
Over the last two years it has seen a 65 per cent increase in orders for home cinemas, which was boosted by last year’s World Cup and homeowners looking to add value to their properties.
Earlier this year, Harrogate Home Cinema was granted “Premium Partner” status by Meridian Sound Systems, one of only 30 UK retailers to be offered this accolade.
Co-Director Peter Hudspeth said: “Since our launch in 2009, we have established ourselves as one of the area’s leading installers of home cinema and acoustic systems, with a reputation for excellent service.
“We wanted to celebrate our second birthday by not be receiving any gifts but giving some, hence this donation to Candlelighters.”
Co-Director Andy Wyatt said: “We are a local company that firmly believes in giving something back to the local community. We decided to support Candlelighters children’s cancer charity as it is a truly worthwhile cause that is incredibly well respected.”
Annabel Search from Harrogate Candlelighters said: “We are delighted with the birthday present from Harrogate Home Cinema. It’s a lovely gesture.
“The Media player will be installed in the Outpatients’ Clinic and I know the films, which will be added to, will be screened regularly. These will bring a comforting distraction to the children who undergoing difficult treatments and are often there for a full day.
“Being a charity, we rely on the generosity of individuals and business a like to help the fight against children’s cancer in Yorkshire.”
