Station Parade in Harrogate collision – appeal to trace driver

13 April 2011

Harrogate police are asking for the driver of a vehicle involved in a minor collision to come forward.

It occurred 1.10pm yesterday, Tuesday 12 April on Station Parade at the bus station crossing. It occurred when a white van had stopped to let a boy and girl, both aged 15, cross the road. The van was then passed by a black car which hit both teenagers. They both suffered minor injuries and did not require medical treatment.

The driver stopped at the scene and spoke with the teenagers. However, he did not leave his details.

Traffic Constable Steve Wood, of the force’s Roads Policing Group, said: “Although the driver of the car did stop at the scene of the collision to check on the welfare of the two people who had been struck, the parties did not exchange details.

“So that I can complete the investigation I ask the man comes forward as soon as possible as I need to speak to him. I would also like to speak to anyone who can help identify the driver.

“Thankfully neither the boy or girl was seriously injured. However, they were naturally left shaken by the incident.”

If you can assist with this enquiry please contact PC Steve Wood on 0845 60 60 24 7 quoting reference number 12110059407.
