Yorkshire law firm McCormicks has appointed two new Partners.
James Martin and Richard Crabb, who have both been with the Harrogate-based firm for four years, have been promoted as part of the growth of McCormicks’ Corporate and Commercial department.
Both have experience across the corporate and commercial disciplines, with James Martin offering expertise in commercial dispute resolution and Richard Crabb specialising in contractual agreements and negotiations, intellectual property and brand protection. Both work alongside Senior Partner Peter McCormick in the firm’s Sports and Media practice, which includes advising governing bodies, elite clubs and associations on a variety of commercial and sporting matters.
James Martin joined from the Manchester office of a major national firm and handles contractual claims, professional negligence, defamation, sport and media matters. He has conducted a number of high-profile cases in the High Court, the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court. James has also achieved settlement of a number of disputes through his skills in Mediation and other forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution.
Richard Crabb joined McCormicks from Procter and Gamble where he was national Marketing Manager for IAMS UK, having previously been an Area Manager for Aldi Stores UK. He had always intended to become a lawyer, having enjoyed work experience at McCormicks in order to help fund his studies as a student, but was keen to experience business at the highest levels and as an insider before embarking on his career in the law.
