North Yorkshire Police were contacted this morning (1 May 2016) at 9.25am by Network Rail, to reports of a womans body on a section of train line at Moor Lane, Copmanthorpe.
The section of train line is currently closed whilst North Yorkshire Police and British Transport Police undertake enquiries to determine the identity of the woman.
Inspector Mark Henderson from North Yorkshire Police stated ‘Police are currently making enquires to identify the woman and inform her next of kin. Moor Lane remains closed at this time and there is a temporary stop on the main railway line which is expected to cause some disruption.’
