Knaresborough High Street was closed from around 6pm until 8.30pm as the police dealt with an incident.
It is being reported locally that the Police dealt with an incident at a premises and those involved made a dramatic getaway as the police attempted, but failed to stop them.
A police van was also damaged and had to be taken away by trailer.
Police and the dog search team were also out in other areas of Knaresborough.
