The Prince of Wales met with members, volunteers and sponsors of the Ure Salmon Trust on 10 September 2014.
The visit to Swinithwaite, Leyburn was part of a number of stops in North Yorkshire that also featured Armley Prison, The Wensleydale Creamery, Patron Campaign for Wool, Abraham Moon & Sons Ltd and Berrys Farm Shop and Cafe.
The Prince was escorted to the banks of the Ure by the Trust’s project manager, David Bamford who showed the fencing off of one of the banks of the river, and the installation of a solar-powered livestock drinking trough, aimed at preventing cattle from eroding the banks and silting up the waterway.
