There will be a festival of cricket on Sunday 3rd August when West Tanfield Cricket Club host the 2014 Theakston Nidderdale Cricket League Finals Day.
As in previous years, the finals of the Peter Bentley Cup, Wath Cup and Barrett Cup will take place on one day, at one venue providing a full day of Twenty20 cricket action.
The schedule for the day will be:
Peter Bentley Cup Final
Birstwith 3rds v Arthington 2nds – start time 11am
Wath Cup Final
Harrogate 4ths v Wath & Melmerby – start time 2pm
Barrett Cup Final
Lofthouse & Middlesmoor v Studley Royal 2nds – start time 5pm
After each game, there will be a presentation ceremony.
West Tanfield Cricket Club are well known for their fabulous hospitality and will be running a very well stocked bar, BBQ with locally produced meats and light refreshments throughout the day. There will also be the chance to try your luck with a raffle running alongside each game.
There will be ample car parking and spectators are encouraged to bring blankets and folding chairs to provide comfortable seating for the day.
Coming up shortly after in the cricketing calendar will be the Atkinson Swires Senior Knockout Final at Masham CC on Sunday 17th August 2pm start and the annual fixture against the MCC on Wednesday 27th August at Dacre Banks CC, start 11am. This years Ingilby Shield will be held at Spofforth CC on Sunday 14th September 1pm start.
