MP to host local export conference

6 November 2012

The MP for Harrogate and Knaresborough, Andrew Jones, will be hosting a conference, on Friday 16 November, to offer advice on winning international business.

Andrew has joined forces with UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) and Harrogate Borough Council to organise the event, called ‘Top 10 tips for winning business overseas’, which will be held at Conyngham Hall in Knaresborough in conjunction with National Exports Week.

The export conference is intended to help firms who are looking to start exporting and to offer further advice to those who have just started to sell abroad.

The ‘top 10 tips’ workshop will be run by Simon Bedford of UKTI followed by speakers from BNL and Taylors of Harrogate who will give local business perspectives.

There will also be a question and answer session with the panel.

Andrew, who has 25 years of business experience, said:

British innovation and industry is highly regarded and we have excellent products and services to offer that the rest of the world want to buy.

Many firms in our area are already leading the way back to an export-led economic recovery.

This conference is for those who are looking to or who have already started to expand into the international market place but could do with some extra advice on the next steps.

Help is also available at this conference for companies who believe that breaking into the export market is a not for them despite having great products for the overseas market.

If you would like to attend the event please contact Dan Harper, Business Development Officer, Harrogate Borough Council at: daniel.harper@harrogate.gov.uk or on 01423 556019.
